"Tetradance (Fuzzy Things in Corners)" by Kevin Hart
(Comments are by
the composer)
Tetradance was composed
at the request of Diana Frazier while skiing near Libby Creek. The
two elements that make up the piece (the dance and the tetra chord)
are presented in the first section. The remainder of the music is an exploration
of those materials, with a section for the performers to improvise in to
see what they can do with it.
I wanted the piece to be exciting from the beginning to commemorate
the exciting beginning of the NMA. The subtitle, "Fuzzy things in corners",
was a working title that I had discarded. The Agents petitioned to have
it returned, and there it is. Bon écouter!
